What is the Spa Buzz Auction: We fondly call it the Buzz Board and we believe it is a revolutionary resource for spa and wellness products and services.
The Buzz Board can best be described as an online auction (similar to other popular online auctions– but much more niche) where consumers can bid for fitness, spa and wellness services and products starting at a minimum set by the spa. Categories will range from massage, esthetics, spa rituals, fitness services, alternative health opportunities and more. The objective is to create another platform for allowing people to have access to spa and wellness services. We look to expand and grow --- and do what we can to help you live well.
The Buzz Board started as one of those thoughts -Wouldn't it be great if we added an auction? And that was it, we were off researching, charting, graphing, speculati ng, forecasting, hoping, learning and it is finally here. It is truly our hope to make spa more accessible to more people. We are fortunate to have found spa and want you to add it into your life too. Oh and just so you know, we weren’t the first to market with this idea!! As luck with have it our friends up North in Canada launched just a few months earlier than we did and actually helped guide us too. Should you be in the market for spa time in Canada. Who we are:
Kristi Konieczny found her love for the wellness industry the day she finally figured out how not to fall in a step aerobics class. After the decidedly pivotal experience, she began teaching fitness classes herself and sought to obtain degrees in Exercise Science and Wellness (B.S., Ball State University, Muncie, IN and M.S., Miami University, Oxford, OH). After various positions in cardiac rehab, corporate wellness and personal training… not to mention a small stint with a dot com company, she was soon recruited to work in the spa industry. (Little did she know one of her first spa experiences was at one of the country’s premiere spas. Oh, don’t worry… she got on a table face down for a facial— delighting her esthetician.) Needless to say, learning via a trial and error introduction has been fairly consistent, yet she has since managed to learn the intricacies of the spa industry.
As a way to show her gratitude for all the amazing people who have helped her grow along the way, she now spends a great deal of time doing what it takes to connect spa and wellness industry leaders and innovators by organizing networking events. And it must be stated that it is a delightful opportunity to “match” people and see their spa business thrive.
The website was created so you can search for new activities, products and services that lead to a more healthful life and personalize YOUR experience. Life is a work in progress, as is finding an optimal wellness lifestyle a continual effort… hopefully, you will find something you can do today.
Marianne McEvoy knew in college hospitality was a good career choice for her. After graduation from the University of Alabama, she went straight to work for the historic Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas. Rising through the ranks Marianne was soon asked to join the Four Seasons in Dallas. As a part of her training for the luxury hotel group she was brought into the spa and found her passion. She loved creating treatments for the guests and finding new products to display.
Skilled in scouting out cool retail, it is no surprise she found herself pulled to the vendor side helping Soy Beam Natural Candles and Body Care grow their business. Working one-on-one with spa directors Marianne created custom candles and body care lines for her clients ranging from a single signature candle to a bespoke scent and body retail range. Having worked in all facets of the spa industry, Marianne is happy to work as VP of Business Development and Outreach for the Spa Buzz finding solutions for all.
As a working mom, Marianne fully understands the challenge of balance and knows that almost everything can be sorted with a great cup of tea (ok, maybe a great glass of wine).
